Women’s Badminton League
The world’s first International Women’s Badminton League is here, and it’s happening just outside Copenhagen!
On December 19–21, 2025, the Solrød Strand Idrætscenter will transform into the stage for a groundbreaking event in badminton history.
It is going to be three exciting days with lots of great badminton matches and player interaction with the audience in a way you have never experienced before.
More Than Just Matches
WBL is not just another tournament. It’s an experience:
World-class women’s badminton, closer to the fans than ever before
A dynamic atmosphere with DJ, speaker, and halftime entertainment
A community celebrating and empowering female athletes
Why WBL?
We believe girls deserve the same visibility, opportunities, and role models as boys. WBL was created to:
Highlight female talent at the highest level
Inspire young girls to see badminton as more than just a hobby, but a lifestyle and career path
Support the next generation in chasing their dreams, on and off the court
Be Part of the Movement
This is more than an event, it’s the start of a movement. By joining us, you are:
Supporting equality in sports
Cheering for incredible athletes who inspire both on and off the court
Becoming part of a community that believes in the power of badminton to change lives
HOW WILL THE WBL BE PLAYED?
The Women’s Badminton League will consist of 4 teams that each have 6-10 players on their team. Each team will face each other in a team match.
Each team match consists of the following order of play:
2 women’s singles
2 women’s doubles
2 matches of 3 against 3
This means that a team match can equal a tie. What will happen when there is a tie in an important team match? Only the future can tell…
There will be played a final where we celebrate the winner of the very first edition of Women’s Badminton League.
Who can participate?
Women’s Badminton League is an International Invitational Tournament and meets the criteria for BWF General Competition Regulations, Clause 2.8 & Clause 2.8.1.
Players who are participating are chosen very carefully. Our mission is to combine the levels from talent to elite player, we want the WBL to be players of the very best, but we also wanted to give the young talents a chance to try and feel what it takes to compete against elite levels.
Our young talents will meet their role models, and you will meet the next generation of female badminton stars. It is important for us to show that girls in sport deserve to get shine in the spotlight and that everything is possible.
